Energy renovation and rehabilitation project: an integrated intervention to optimize the energy and functional efficiency of the building, including insulation, replacement of windows and doors, and installation of photovoltaic systems.
Development of the Executive Project
The Executive Project synthesizes an integrated approach that perfectly balances the functional and energy efficiency of the building while complying with current safety and facility management regulations.
Approach and objectives
The design focused on architectural optimization and reduction of energy consumption, adopting eco-efficient solutions to improve the building's energy performance.
Analysis of the current state
Analysis of the current state revealed significant energy and plant deficiencies, with the building classified as energy class “G.”
Renovation and improvements
The design includes a first-level renovation of the east-facing head building facing the circular garden, with interventions aimed at improving energy performance, including:
Insulation of the building envelope with a “coat” system.
Replacement of window and door frames.
Construction of ventilated walls.
Optimization of systems to take advantage of free heat inputs.
Installation of shielding systems against solar radiation.
Renovation of the heating system and heat distribution, regulation and metering systems.
Installation of photovoltaic modules.
Implementation of consumption monitoring systems.
Efficiency of the lighting system and internal transport.
Volumes and architectural features
The intervention is developed on two main volumes, with a functional sky-ground unit, located at sub. 3, p.lla 157 of Sheet 33 of the N.C.E.U. of the Municipality of Lumezzane:
Main volume: the largest volume, with a U-shaped plan and sloping, double-pitched roof.
Secondary volume: more compact and smaller volume.
